In Ukraine, for years at all levels, the need to develop the state in an innovative direction has been discussing. The necessary laws have been adopted, programs approved, technology transfer centers and business incubators established, regular trainings and roundtables, as well as competitions of innovative ideas, have been conducting.
Thanks to all these efforts, it sets the wheels in motion but a real innovative breakthrough did not happen. Why? Maybe it happens so that in our country there is no longer talented youth? On the contrary, in Ukraine, we have perhaps the most talented young people in the world. So why? Yes, because in our universities they are not still trained to work with innovative ideas and earn money.
Despite the fact that the term "Startup" has already entered our ordinary life, very few people can explain its meaning. The fact is that a startup is not simply a new business, as many people think. It is a creative work with a new idea; it is a search for a formerly unused business model for an innovative idea that is able to bring certain revenues in the future. A startup environment is a creative environment where inventers implement their ideas and developments getting support through training and communication.
The way of startupers differs from a standard career. By the time the university is finished, creative startup organizers are able to develop several projects and receive investments for them.
The first Innovation Ecosystem in Ukraine “Sikorsky Challenge” has specifically been created to involve creative youth in innovative entrepreneurship. Here, technological ideas are grown, innovative startup companies are launched and developed. This is the environment in which the full technological circle is carried out - from searching for new ideas and designing business models to attracting investments and creating new innovative businesses.
Created in NTUU “Igor Sikorsky KPI” Innovative Ecosystem “Sikorsky Challenge” is supported by NTUU “Igor Sikorsky KPI” and the Science Park “Kyivska Polytechnika”. Structurally, it looks like this:
